it's always going to be the same top 14 or however many drivers qualifying for each title race on TNB; I can't see why this qualifying system was based on a decision made after 'that' B final? it was only a small minority excessively breaking the rules- surely they should be the ones excluded from the chance of qualifying for main races, not everyone else.

if only consistantly good drivers will qualify, then what's the point in everyone else racing? yeah, you could say for their own enjoyment, but why should someone who doesn't usually rod and wants a chance of getting in a main race by rodding at a particular meeting not be allowed in?!

a similar rule was in place on certain tnb meetings a little while ago, where the excuse for not allowing qualifiers on the day was so that 'visitors don't turn up, win the title, then never race the league again'. where's the problem in that aswell?
surely the winner of the title race in question should be the person who is best at racing on the track, on that night. not someone from the 'select few' who rods week in week out. if you don't want visitors to race.....beat them! it's banger racing. turn it round and stop them, spin them out, follow them in!

to put all this into perspective; as an example, deano763 wouldn't have to race at any TNB meeting for the rest of the year from this point onwards; and he'd be qualified to race in any title race with the current 'top national point scorers only' qualifying system in place- which is because he's picked up so many national points this year (congrats)
obviously he wouldn't chose to do that, but there are other drivers who race every single week on TNB who would never get as many national points as deano, and they'd be denied of a place in any title race grid, even if they do well on one particular night, because they're not one of the 'top drivers'.

if you removed this title race 'qualifying system', then surely it would only have positives. you'd have more of a mix of drivers racing in each title race. it'd give others a chance.
if you don't want one of the underdogs to win the title race, then stop them.
if one of the 'slower' drivers didn't want one of the top drivers to win the title race, they'd stop them in the qualifying races.
the result of this would mean better races, it makes sense.

Agree with the above. I was someone that almost always crashed. I'd sit on the bends and pick off my targets each race. However, there were times when I fancied a race and did qualify for the TNB WF each year that I raced (and then caused mayhem with a huge car!) I also won the WNB British in about 2006 / 7 (in a Cutlass incidentally!)

I liked qualifying for big races and then going for a crash or just seeing how I got on. I cannot be arsed with rodding every week to qualify for things. It's boring. If the same select few are going to be in every title then surely it takes away the competition element greatly? Those that rodded at the start are then set for the season.

Visitors turn up and win titles in real life - as Dalags says, if you don't want a visitor to win, you turn round and stop them! I don't know the reason for this top 14 ruling, but I don't think it's the way to go!

I was happy to run a LCQ for the roof grade titles until last meeting when thanks to half a dozen morons it all went nuts,It ended up being a major headache,people accusing each other of infielding,oppo,pinning,modding,you name it.
I didnt have time to hold the meeting for half hour to go watch replays,So that then forced me into a crap decision to re-run it,
Honestly if i knew what i knew after watching it (the day after) Ja739 should have been in that final,but he wasnt and that was down to the twats who couldnt behave and my on the spot decision which i later regretted.

And if a "visitor" is on the grid for a title race it's simple, the regulars should do everything to stop them winning! You cannot prevent anyone outside the top 14 from racing in a title just because you're scared of a visitor winning.

At least with qualifying on the night for most races (the WF should still be done on qualifying points, I'm on about the other titles) it opens it up to more than the same 4/5 drivers winning everything. Champion of Champions will be a good race at this rate..

for the bigest titles your main chart should be used, but for mickey mouse titles that in real life are allcommers anyway, surely the meet and title should be open to all. Even run this way i am confident that one of 5 reguallar names would win!!??!! ie deano, jamie, hardcore, fred, boss for example there are some others you would imagine barring a complete hatchet job would almost certainly get, in the likes off lukeyboy, lee606, leeg, crewie.

SURELY QUALIFY ON THE NIGHT IS THE FAIREST WAY, the cream will always float but with a few suprises to spice it up itll be good. This being scared of visitors winning sounds like 1980's spedeworth if i am honest.

Real life... 964 John Fortune won the F2 WF last year and as his lad started racing this season he hasn't raced much and hardly out of Scotland at all. H24 Willie Peeters won it in 2005 and only raced in the UK maybe 2/3 times during his time as World Champion. That's just how these things go?

Anyway the Unlimited WF on here won't get won by a visitor will it? WQR points over 4 meetings, that'll be down to someone who has done all the qualifiers and then has a bit of luck in the main race.

That title should stay as it is - but all other titles should be open on the night, or by a specific pre-determined qualifying system, rather than just "top 14 hotrodders."

Besides, a TNB regular might win the Gold roof one week and then have their pc die the next week and not be seen. Then the roof wouldn't be seen then either?

Yea i know its unfortunate for whatever reason if someone cant race anymore,It just seems to make a mockery of it and makes you wonder if its even worth running the meeting when things like that happen.
The thing is,Lets not get confused here,Its ONLY the roof grade meetings that are like this,ALL other meetings are qualify on the night,whatever they are.
I also like to see a league looking after the drivers that support it week in and week out and feel they should be rewarded as opposed to someone who barely does a handful of meeting a year < (thats me at uk dirt by the way!)

If i wasnt top 14 (and yes ill admit im up there cause i have rodded here and there along the way,although im slipping) I still wouldnt have no problem seeing the top however many contest it out,I see that as a league looking after its loyal drivers as i said earlier,In my first few seasons back in 2006 i was cack,got lapped all the time,never made a A Final never mind a title meet final! but had no problems with it,until i got better with experience and learned how to make a set up.

Adam i know youve just come back and want to be in title meeting finals but its also the same currently for guys like DannyG,Jay,Ricky,Rudeboy,Satsuma,Smith,Luke,Jamie,Shortie,Dalags,Stig,They are all mid table,so just missing out but race regularly and support the league but sadly aint in that top margin.

If we had a 30 car server it wouldnt be an issue,Everyone would be happy,Thats just the way its been though this year mate.It was also agreed by DP's before put in place.
